Making a portmanteau game of MtG and Splendor. The game mirror the colors of mana. So Im using basic lands in place of the mines, and plans walkers inplace of nobles. This works fine. But I'm open to suggestions. Also need help with the expansions, city's and side deck

Why is it all so cut up? Around the start of the pandemic I bought Splendor. My collection was already taking up too much space, and I really didn't want to add a box of 80 percent air to the growing problem. A few hours, an box cutter knife and some packing tape solved that problem. Then I just did it instead of a sourdough starter. A year later and most things that I can optimize have been. How long have you been involved in the hobby? Coming up on 6 years - most of the collection is from the last three years due to a move. What would you change about your collection if you could? Clear out about 5-10 games, and move to a more planar storage system - deep shelves lead to things getting buried. There are quite a few games with wasted space that I might preform surgery on:
Treasure Island - I think this can fit in the expansion box if you do something tricky with the treasure chest.
Camel Up - The plastic pyramid and board mean that this has a lot of empty space.
Wavelength - I'd need to figure out a way to hold the board.
Klask - Needs some sort of folding mechanism...
What have I been playing? Wait - Box surgery isn't a real game? Lately it's been mostly 2 player games - Splendor and Klask are the current hotness, but Lost cities and fox in the forest are never far out of the rotation. I managed to get in a game of A War of Whispers at 4 relatively recently which was a delightful time. Whats up next? On the two player front Targi or Archaeology are top of the list. The kings dilemma is the next up once normality returns. I wouldn't mind getting good at Tigris with a few people either, or a simple light evening of some quacks, Catch the moon and Jungle speed.
Amazon has started price matching the Target Sale. Here's a list of the games we've found so far. I grouped them so you can group games in the same price range and save the maximum amount of cash. As usual, we've got a landing page over on the blog with links to all of these that we will be updating as the sale grows and evolves. Updated: 11am EST Feb 8th Under $5

Hello, first some context. We are just a single store in the United States and not involved in online markets. our target demo are casual or newcomers to boardgamers, but we naturally we welcome and cater to everyone. Overall its always been busy despite cancelling all events (our game room filled up each night back in the before time). Here are the following best sellers from top to bottom. All of them were priced at regular MSRP. Edit: the Queen's Gambit would have made all chess sets #1 if vendors werent back logged filling orders. The power of a TV show. UltraPro Toploaders 3'' X 4'' Clear Regular (25) - TopLoaders were like toilet paper. People were buying them in bulk, prices being scalped online, etc. Not sure why, maybe due to all the shipping of cards? For those unaware, Pokemon demand skyrocketed to insane levels! It feels like a bubble market we got so many calls and 1,600 clicks in one weekend for a Trainer Box we said was in-store pickup only. Never underestimate the power of social media influencers. GameGenic Deck Protectors: Soft Sleeves (100) Clear - GameGenic is the FFG supplies replacement, and they stepped in when UltraPro was out everywhere. GameGenic Standard Card Game Value Pack (200) Clear - This seems to be the main way to get your sleeves. 200 great quality sleeves for $10. Pandemic - No explanation needed Codenames - Still going strong, the game that appeals to everyone, from casuals to those who like multitasking thoughts under time pressure. Grandpa Beck's Cover Your Assets - Still the champ every year, not sure if its a regional thing or if its THE game for casual players across North America. Catan - The yearly catan releases still going strong. this year were catan hexadocks, dice tower, trading post, and 25th Anniversary edition. Mayday Sleeves: Standard Card Game (100) (Green) - Mayday has been slacking compared to GameGenic but still a good value for cheapo thin sleeves. Root - We were actually able to get enough, thank you Leder games for printing so many copies! GameGenic Flex Card Dividers (10) - I love these myself, common for Magic and expansion card game players. Secret Hitler - remember kids, its all about viral marketing and getting influencers to play your game. They got a new distributor recently. D&D RPG: Player's Handbook 5E (Core Rules) - remember kids, its all about viral market--- you get the idea. I wonder how Wizards thanks things like Critical Role for giving them millions and millions of dollars with no effort in advertising. Wingspan - As usual this would be #1 if we ever got close to my back order requests. Codenames Duet Coup 7 Wonders Duel The Crew: The Quest for Planet Nine - SDJ winners do influence our store, not sure if they influence other stores. Splendor Grandpa Beck's Skull King Ticket to Ride (USA) Scooby-Doo! Betrayal at Mystery Mansion Betrayal at House on the Hill - These are always winners, and I wager Hasbro/Wizards/Avalon is doing everything they can to churn out annual Betrayal releases. Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion - regular Gloomhaven stil sells out at distribution level, don't worry. Cards Against Humanity - nothing will stop it unless non-saavy gamers see something else on social media. Five Crowns - the older gamer's game of choice along with Grandpa Beck Mysterium Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza - A newcomer to the list! Mostly because it was cheap, but I don't know where they advertised to get so many people asking for it. another social media influencer or viral marketing success? Camel Up - Yay, it finally made the list becuase it didn't keep selling out instantly at distribution!
[COMC] Over 2 years into the Hobby and I got a Kallax!
https://preview.redd.it/8yonk4bxo9g61.jpg?width=1512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1e756733857baa9f66e91d75421df8a736dce432 Managed to pick up a Kallax unit for my collection. I've been in the hobby for a little over 2 years now. I've probably added an average of 1 new game each month/every couple of months. Some months I'll pick up a couple of games, especially if I find a good deal (always watching for Clearance and have started getting into the used game market). I added a couple of drawer inserts for decks of cards, dice, extra components, baggies, sleeves, etc. That chest centered on top is my Villainous collection. My wife decorated that box for me as a Christmas present and it includes some internal storage compartments for the tokens and components. I've also gotten into the habit of getting rid of some inserts (I tossed Viticulture and Ex Libris inserts yesterday). And try to get expansions into the main box, so I have a few expansions, but I've tried to combine (or hide) where possible (Wingspan: Oceania is behind the base game box). All in all though; I'm starting to feel pretty good about where my collection is at. There are a few additional games I'd like to round it out, but I'm feeling good. How it got started: My wife and I would occasionally play games with another couple, but it tended to be stuff like Clue (which we enjoyed). Then, after hanging out with another friend and his gaming friends, they introduced me into a different world of games (7 Wonders, Dead of Winter, Legendary, Wingspan, etc.). As I started getting more into the hobby games and buying those games, my wife and I started introducing those to the other couple we would play with. Now, that couple has also started picking up more hobby games too, so it feels like an extended collection, haha. Favorite Games: I really enjoy LegendaryMarvel, I think partially because it was such a gateway for me, but also I really like Marvel and the deck-building mechanism. Wingspan and Champions of Midgard are also favorites, which is why they're prominently displayed. I also really enjoy 7 Wonders and Splendor and Ex Libris has seen quite a bit of play as well. What would I change: Initially, I would pick up a lot of mass market stuff from Target or Walmart, some good, some bad, that I would like to cull at some point. I haven't really made a big effort to sell anything off, but I've got some stuff on the radar and some stuff not pictured (a few monopolys, some other party games, etc.) that I would like to get rid of. Shelf of Shame: The Crew and Back to the Future Back in Time are both recent additions I haven't gotten to the table. I think Council of 4 has been on there the longest without getting play, outside of a couple of mass market games I picked up early on, but I don't know that I'll even keep them around. I picked up Trains as I started getting more into deck-builders, but that also hasn't made the table, yet. Anything on the Way: Last year I backed my first Kickstarter, and I believe it will be here this week—Overboss! The cube at the top of the Kallax filled with Boss Monster is a place holder for Overboss. I also added-on the Boss Monster big box so I can cull everything into one box. What's on the wishlist: Everything! I think at the top of my list are Robinson Crusoe, Dead Men Tell No Tales, Scythe, Raiders of Sythia, and Clank! I really just like learning and trying new games and want to play as much as I can. Additionally, I've been looking into some small box filler games to add Point Salad, Arboretum, Truffle Shuffle, Silver & Gold, etc.
I think we can all agree it's been a roller coaster of a year and twenty days. The capper for it was that Monday, we had to say goodbye to our cat. Cancer is not fun, even more so in a creature that doesn't understand what's going on. So, as a means to deal with my grief yesterday (Tuesday), I spent the afternoon rearranging my shelves. The black shelf was mostly for books, and the tan ones for games, but I figured having the games more visible made more sense in helping speed up decisions. After the photo was taken, there were a couple very minor edits to arrangement, but, overall this is the "final" setup. Atop the shelves: Charterstone (four games in after owning it for 2.5 years), Risk, Sushi Go Party (tin doesn't fit anywhere), overflow sleeves, silicone baking cups, several pounds of dice (balaclava and hat have been swapped for a Weslav Ushanka) DnD supplies (Sterilite box, includes character sheets, props, pencils, notes, etc), big box o' minis (black case), 14 lbs of glass beads of various colors (useful, multipurpose tokens), a poker set, Otto the Octopus and Sharky the Shark, a Mario star, and an ceramic cube sculpture my wife made. There are a few themes in the setup. Row A; 1-4: Deckbuilders and card driven games, then Scythe 'cuz it fits there. 5: TTR sized boxes, Bézier Games. 6: Plan B/Next Move games, and Railroad Ink for spacing. Row B; 1-2: Games I own, love, and NEVER get to play, even pre-COVID. Bonus Polish section within. 3: Paperback was moved here. It and MV are an extension of deckbuilders. Also the "pretty art" section, I suppose. 4: Onitama was moved here. The yellow box section, CGE section, and "deckbuildeworker placement hybrid" zone. 5-6: Nature. Specifically: birds, birds and cats, cats, fish etc., trees, and raccoons. Row C; 1: Stuff I own, but can't really get rid of. 2: DnD, PF, VtM5, dice tray. 3-4: Euros (and Critical mass 'cuz it fits). Splendor was split into the Medium and Onitama expansion boxes because the box for it is way too huge for a game that takes 30 minutes. 5: Party games and boxes that are weirdly uniform. 6: Super family friendly games. So, uh, thanks for checking out my collection. Maybe we can play something soon. https://preview.redd.it/wg313vdaimc61.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c41affac276f98622e92e0fb19ee3cafbd8ecb7
COMC Been collecting since 2017 when my fiance (then gf) and I went to a meetup for boardgames and were introduced to Pandemic and Ticket 2 Ride. Before that, we had only played Catan, Monopoly, etc the old classics. Although we played them broken with house rules. Left to Right: Telestrations We're Doomed Monopoly Deal Spirit Island + B&C + Jagged Earth Codenames Pictures Key to the Kingdom Listicles Pandemic + OTB Scattergories Ticket to Ride Concordia Parks Terraforming Mars + Prelude + Hellas/Elysium Maps Root Wingspan Splendor Everdell. How long have you been involved in the hobby? 2017 What would you change about your collection if you could? I haven't touched my Spirit Island expansions yet, we've been really playing Terraforming Mars, Pandemic, and Root lately. We played Key to the Kingdom about 4-5x before we decided never to play it again. I haven't been able to trade or sell it though! Its a fun concept but is too dependent on dice roll (risk) and just drags on way too long, As a whole my favorite out of our collection for a fun warm up, Telestrations definitely fun and goofy especially because we're all talented at drawing. Outside that, Concordia is a fantastic worker placement, Terraforming Mars is a brilliant Euro, Spirit Island is a blast to play but my fiance doesn't really care for it too much, so I can either play it solo or I could play a game with, I'm always going to choose a game to play with her over than playing solo. Most Played In 2020 I probably put about 70 games into Spirit Island, so definitely SI. Most of those were solo the first 3 months I got it. Maybe played with 2 or more people 20 of those games. Easiest to Teach Telestrations, Splendor, or Monopoly Deal are by far the easiest ones to teach. Good little warm up games as well. With monopoly deal, we removed the $1 m money cards and the draw 2 cards from our deck. What's Next? I'm really looking at maybe AFFO or On Mars! I've never played a Lacerda game, but I'm all about Mars theme so we shall see! On my book shelf I have The Mratian, Martian Chronicles, The Case for Mars, How We'll Live on Mars, Red Mars, and the Expanse books (heavily focused on Mars). Big fan of the theme. Where did you find these games? Pandemic and T2R were introduced at a LBGS, we found Telestrations on the shelf at the store as well! Everything else was introduced through this very sub or through Sit Down and Shut Up. Big ones introduced into this sub were Concordia, Spirit Island, Terraforming Mars, Root, Everdell, and Wingspan. We actually got the first print of Wingspan when it came out!

Crashes when around whiterun before warning jarl. Help pls
Someone please help me figure this out. My game crashes whenever I get near whiterun or spend too much time in the region. I have no clue what causes it, I'm not around npcs or doing anything in particular, and I was extremely careful that none of my mods conflicted or edited the same cells. Here's my LO someone please take a look at it and help me out.I think the biggest culprits may be capital whiterun expansion or populated series hell on earth, but that doesn't explain how it can crash no where around npcs and even when I'm just in the region around whiterun. Games that you've fallen out of love with (or vice versa)?
I've come to find Arkham Horror the Card Game to be more of a burden than an enjoyment to play. Initially the theme carried me through the frustrations with difficulty and randomness but as of late I just can't seem to find the love I once had for the game. Have any of you ever fallen out of love with a game? Or maybe come to love a game you disliked?
I started modding the PS4 version on my PS5 for the first time last night. I found a massive list of mods that sounded pretty interesting. I used most of them, and I also added a couple others that I found. I didn't pay too much attention to the mod order. I just went with the order of the list I found for the most part and put the other mods I found where they seemed appropriate. The game runs stable most of the time, but it has crashed a couple of times in a few hours of playing. Can you advise me on how I should order this list? Again, it is massive. I am reading through the descriptions for each mod so that I can try to parse some sort of mod order based on stuff that I am reading online. It's just really confusing because I don't know what type of mod some might be categorized as; some might fit multiple categories in the lists that I've found. It's hard to tell. This is the order they are currently be in. I will go through and find the mods that specifically say where in the list they should be, but I have no idea about what to do for everything else:

Warning: This entire post is just me screaming about how dope the Omens were. I'm a pretty avid player of Granblue Fantasy Versus these days, having a lot of hours in the game and being known to compete in online tournaments. Being a fighting game in the year 2020, it has a ton of DLC on the way, and it made me think about what characters I would like to see in the game. Not playing actual Granblue (the mobile game) very often, I couldn't think of many requests, but my mind started drifting to other Cygames properties. I've always thought Granblue had pretty weak character designs overall, so most of what I'd wanna see in a fighting game are the RoB characters that wound up in that universe like Albert or Forte. But then my mind expanded as I remembered Shadowverse has some amazing character designs too. More specifically, I thought of the Omens, who are actually hella sick. The 10 original characters from Omen of the Ten are easily the coolest characters Shadowverse has ever seen. Their designs, the themes tying them together, and their integration into the gameplay of the actual card game make them steps above any other original characters we've seen in this universe. I was scrolling through the Omen of the Ten character page, which is still up because I guess it's too much trouble to take down, getting hype just reading the little descriptions and lore of them all. For any of you Shadowverse zoomers out there who started with one of these shiny new expansions, I'd recommend scrolling through and reading up on their introductions. The 10 Omens are based on the 10 Commandments, with the 5 male ones adhering to them and the 5 female ones acting in opposition to them. They each have some sort of weapon representing their designated number. For example, the 7th Omen has 7 wings. In-game, these characters were introduced with much fanfare, having an entire set of cards dedicated to supporting a playstyle with the Omen being the Legendary card that ties them all together (at least in theory). If these guys weren't cool enough on their own, they also came with their own sets of Servants, Disciples, Apostles, and Zealots. There are also cards that see the Omens in action like Disdainful Rending or Craving's Splendor that are just a joy to look at. Omen was one of the first expansions where Cygames started obviously promoting certain archetypes and builds, uniting the cards through a common theme. Regardless of how you feel about this design philosophy, it's practically inarguable that the theming and flavor of the Omens isn't still the best we've seen so many months later. I'm bringing this all up because the thought of playing as Octrice in a fighting game stimulated a certain type of neurons in my head. And then I realized how low the likelihood of that ever happening is. For as cool as the Omens were, they haven't been acknowledged very much since they rotated out (and are mostly unplayable in Unlimited) and it makes me scared that they'll eventually end up forgotten. You know all their weapons have names? Octrice's sword is called Avaritia, and Galmieux's claws are called Total Domination. That's so cool. These characters clearly had a ton of thought, love, and care put into their designs and the fact that they could eventually fade into obscurity with Shadowverse's infinitely-expanding card library makes me a little teary, honestly. So, yeah, I just wanted to remind people that the Omens happened. It's not like they're totally irrelevant yet, since Lishenna just became a leader and I recall Rage of Bahamut adding more lore for them over time, but it's still less attention than I wish they could've gotten. I want to see them come back someday, not just so I can steal Illganeau's Last Words, but also just to see the new art, voicelines, and effects that they would bring with them. Cygames has a habit of letting their characters jump between games sometimes so I would love if Omen of the Ten wasn't the last we've seen of these guys. I won't be playing Octrice in Granblue Versus any time soon, but I'd like her to at least be a contender in Super Cygames Bros. a decade from now. Thanks for reading my Omen except Raio fuck Raio Appreciation Thread.
I've been facing multiple problems for awhile now,; listed below
Images missing and getting corrupted and warped in the mod menu and the load-order screen. It always happens with the same mods. Ex; It always affects mods such as most of my weapon and armor mods, yet doesn't seem to affect my texture or follower mods. Has been happening for a little more than 6 months. I've included images.
This is the main problem that I've been facing; Starting Dawnguard. This has ruined almost 6 playthroughs by causing Skyrim to crash every 10 minutes regardless of location and whether or not i'm with Serana. When I begin the questline (Usually after a stable 50+ Hours of playing) i'm able to get through the entire Dimhollow Crypt section normally, but after I exit into skyrim with Serana, repeated crashes start occurring getting progressively worse and more frequent as the playthrough goes on. The game is rendered virtually unplayable by the finding a moth priest quest.
I've tried multiple Serana replacers such as the Bijin AIO version, the Refined Volkihar UNP version and other Seranaholics. The crashing continues even when I'm not with Serana or if I'm alone with her without my other followers. I usually use the AFT tweak menu on her to enable outfit management. For my most recent playthrough I used the New ``Serana Dialogue add-on" along with the patches I required instead of the older "Serana Dialogue Edit" combined with "Marry Serana'' and still faced the same issues. I've faced these issues before downloading "Redesigned Females". What's more baffling is that if I reload to a Pre-Dawnguard save file, the problems persist. I've even tried doing Dawnguard as soon as possible ( 5 Hours in) and Still face these same issues. I haven't tested to see if the Dragonborn DLC faces any of the same problems, but i'm assumeing it will. I'm willing to do almost anything to prevent the issues with Dawnguard. This is my current load order after my most recent playthrough. The load order of the mods is probably wildly incorrect, but has functioned relatively well for the entire game leading up to Dawnguard. I wouldn’t really worry about the expansion of DoW, tbh unless someone is selling it to you dirt cheap. It’s not a must have. Cities, on the other hand, if you have played Splendor so many times (upwards of 50x for me), then you would really wanna get the Cities expansion as it adds variety to the game. Cities of splendor introduces four complete expansions to the splendor base game, each accentuating and highlighting a different aspect of the original game. Towers allow players to reserve additional cards, special powers introduce a new layer of engine building, cities give players a new goal to strive towards, and a range of exciting development cards add spice to any game. Otherwise, I still feel like there is plenty to love in the base game and certainly this expansion is not “necessary” in any way. iSlaytheDragon.com thanks Asmodee for providing us with a review copy of Cities of Splendor. So I was eager for its first expansion, Cities of Splendor, which is releasing soon. I’m loving this expansion, which is really a series of four different expansions. I think it adds some nice elements to the base game without adding much complexity. I’m going to provide an overview and rating for each one.
